Cancellations & Modifications

All cancellations and modifications must be made directly with the hotel.

Standard Reservations

Credit card required to guarantee the booking. The credit card will be authorized for the first night’s rate approximately 6 days prior to arrival. If the authorization is unsuccessful, the hotel reserves the right to cancel the reservation.
Free cancellation until 14:00 (local Dutch time), 72 hours prior to arrival. Cancellations within 72 hours or no-shows will be charged 100% of the reservation.
Modifications are subject to availability and may affect the nightly rate and a €20 administration fee applies to all modifications.
Group reservations are subject to separate policies.

Non-Refundable Reservations

Full amount charged at time of booking; no cancellations permitted. As a courtesy to guests who book directly through our website, we allow modifications to non-refundable reservations, subject to availability.
Modifications are allowed up to 48 hours prior to arrival, subject to availability and a €20 administration fee applies to all modifications.
Higher rate difference will be charged if applicable; no refunds for lower rates.
No changes or refunds within 48 hours of arrival.

CASH

We accept cash payments, however we are unable to accept bills of €200,- and €500,-.

CREDITCARD AUTHORIZATION & DEPOSIT

The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorize credit cards prior to your arrival and the hotel reserves the right to request a deposit of €50 upon check-in.

CREDIT CARD POLICY

If the cardholder is not present at check-in, authorization documents are required in advance. And if the cardholder is present, the credit card and physical ID (Passport or Identity Card) must be shown at check-in. Failure to provide required documentation will require payment from guests at check-in.

DAMAGES & EXTRA CLEANING FEE

We expect the utmost respect of our guests for our property and belongings. When damages caused by severe neglect by the guest, we are forced to charge all costs to the responsible booker. This will include repairs at cost, extra costs for the cleaning, plus a daily room rate equal to the daily rate that we would charge if the room was available, until the said room has been returned to saleable condition. For excessive dirty rooms an additional clean fee of €150 will be charged to the guest.

DISTURBANCE

In case of & excessive disturbance & (loud noise, damages, unproper behaviour), the hotel reserves the right to immediately terminate your reservation without refund of the reservation nor the deposit paid.

FORCE MAJEURE

Hotel Damsquare does not accept any liability and makes no compensation in any form when unable to offer services contracted by us due to circumstances beyond our control: (natural) disaster, fire, war and terrorism, strikes, riots, cancellation of flight/train/bus/boat, pandemics, government regulations, labour disputes, unfavourable weather conditions or other exceptional and catastrophic events, circumstances or emergencies that make it impossible to stay at our hotel.

HOUSEKEEPING

We want to think of our planet and try to minimize using the water and cleaning materials. Housekeeping is available daily but in case you prefer no service, no problem! Please just hang the do not disturb-sign or tell to the reception\that you prefer not to have the cleaning on that day. Also re-using towels saves water and means fewer detergents that pollute our planet. Willing to re-use your towel? Please hang it on the rack in your room. Want your towel replaced? Please leave it on the floor.

LIABILITY

Hotel Damsquare is not liable for any damages, loss or theft of goods and can therefore not be obligated to pay any form of compensation
whatsoever in this context. Please use the safe in your room for your valuable items.

MISSED CHECK OUT

Our check out time is until 10:30 hours in the morning. In case the guest is not present in the room after 10:30 hours and the belongings are still present, one of our management level team members will pack the belongings to ensure the room can be cleaned by our housekeeping team
for the arriving guests of that day. The luggage/belongings will be stored in a safe and secure area and can be picked up at the front office. An additional €100,- packing costs will be invoiced, which will need to be paid when picking up the belongings.

MONUMENTAL BUILDING

We are happy to let you know that Hotel Damsquare is located in a monumental building at the centre of Amsterdam. That means that we don’t have an elevator and rooms are not as isolated and soundproofed as modern buildings are these nowadays.
All our rooms are all unique in sizes and measurements.

PETS

Pets are not allowed in the hotel.

SMOKING POLICY

Hotel Damsquare is a non smoking hotel and maintains a zero tolerance policy for: Smoking, Narcotics Drugs. This policy applies to all rooms and public areas. When smoking in the room or when drugs/narcotics are found in the room or in public areas, the hotel reserves the right to issue a fine of €150 + costs for any damages.
The hotel reserves the right to immediately terminate your reservation without refund of the reservation nor the deposit paid and legal action will
be taken.
