Do you allow pets?

We are sorry, but pets are not allowed in the rooms or in the hotel.

Question 2

How do I get from Schiphol Airport to Hotel Damsquare?

Accepted Answer

Public transportation from the airport is the best method of travel to our hotel. The train station is located directly under the airport. You can "Tap in" and "Tap out" with your credit card for the entrance/exit or you can purchase the tickets at the kiosk. Take the train to Amsterdam Centraal Station (approximately 17 minute trip). From there you can either walk (7 minutes to our hotel) on the Damrak OR you can take the Metro which is under Centraal Station and take the M52Zuid one stop to the Rokin and exit the station on the Dam Square (northern) side and we are around the corner on the Damstraat. All public transportation can be paid for by tapping in and out with your credit card. There is also an official taxi stand at the airport.  Be sure to agree on a price prior to getting into the taxi.  A taxi or Uber straight from Schiphol takes around 40 minutes depending on traffic.

Is your hotel wheelchair accessible? Do you have a lift/elevator?

Our hotel is an historical facility that is not accessible by wheelchair and does not have a lift/elevator.  Stairs only.

Question 4

What time is check-in and check-out?

Accepted Answer

Standard check-in is from 14:00PM and check-out is until 10:30.  If you reserve directly with us then your checkout is 12:00.  If you're arriving earlier — particularly after a long-haul flight — let us know in advance and we'll do our best to arrange early check-in.

Is parking available at the hotel?

Our hotel has no parking. Our hotel is located directly in the center of Amsterdam which makes parking difficult. The nearest public parking garages are Q-Park De Bijenkorf and Q-Park Dam, both within a few minutes' walk. You're welcome to pull up at our entrance to drop off your luggage before parking — just speak to our reception team.A less expensive, yet still convenient alternative is to park in the P + R Amsterdam Noord parking garage and take the M52 Zuid to Rokin stop.  When exiting the Rokin metro station, exit at the North side of the station that indicates the Dam Square.  Hotel Damsquare is located around the corner from the metro station exit on the Damstraat.  For additional parking garage information just inside the A10 ring road please Google, "Amsterdam Park + Ride." If you should have additional questions, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Do you have air-conditioning? What other amenities are included in the room?

Yes! Our rooms include air-conditioning with a thermostat and control panel.  All of our rooms also include a TV, safe,  an electric hot water kettle for coffee/tea, toiletries, Hi-Speed WIFI, and slippers (ask at the desk).

Do you have gluten free and/or vegan options in the breakfast buffet?

Yes! Our breakfast buffet does include gluten free items and vegan items.  Just let us know and our breakfast servers will bake special gluten free rolls for you.

How do I get from Centraal Station to Hotel Damsquare?

Hotel Damsquare is an 8 minute walk from Centraal Station.  Walk directly on the Damrak to Dam Square and just at the National Monument on the Dam take a left on to the side street the Damstraat.  We are located approximately a half block in on the right hand side of the street.  You can also take the M52 (underground metro) one stop.  Exit on the north side of the station where the Dam is indicated.  Our hotel is around the corner.  You can take Trams 4, 14 or 24 to the stop the Dam (1st stop) we are on the side street left, just past the National Monument. When you see House of Fries you have arrived to our building!

Question 9

Do you have baby beds available?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We have baby beds for children ages 0-3yrs.  Please make your request when you make your reservation so we can be certain to reserve a baby bed for you. The additional cost is 10Euro per night.

Is reception open for late arrivals?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Our reception staff and night porters are always here 24 hours to welcome you in person.
